About Us
Tacho’s Restaurant was founded with a passion for sharing authentic Mexican flavors and hospitality with Oregon City.
Our History
Ricardo Espinoza, owner at Tacho’s Mexican Restaurant arrived to the U.S.A at the age of 18 and started working in kitchens as a dishwasher, busboy and whatever job he could possibly find.
But his real passion was construction, he loves to create things with his own hands. As he met more people, he started doing more work for restaurants, remodeling and helping the owners to get their business up and running. He watched and learned about the things that were necessary to have a successful business as he built them.
Ricardo then met his former business partner and helped him to remodel some buildings in the Portland area. Ricardo was given the opportunity to team up with this person and work together here in the Oregon City area. Eventually, they parted ways but Ricardo kept this restaurant and worked very hard to make it a place for families to come to.
Ricardo and his wife met in Los Angeles and she has always supported him in whatever he endeavored. Together, they have two beautiful daughters and 4 grandchildren. His beloved son Ricky, who passed away in 2003 was very important to him. His family used to call Mr. Espinoza “Tacho” when he was a child. Ricardo prides himself in the family atmosphere and providing his customers with the perfect dining experience with food dishes that have passed on for generations.
Since 1992, Tacho’s has been a part of NW Oregon and has succeeded in creating the “Spice of Life” that everyone has come to love.
